Hi, I’m the LA Saxman (Ray Mapp)

I have been playing the alto saxophone for around 50 years… the saxophone has become a part of my body. I am now able to truly express myself through the music of my saxophone. Much of the time that I play, I feel as if a spirit takes over my body as I become a part of the audience and being surprised at what music I hear being played through the sax I am holding. I appreciate being able to share my gift of music with others in hopes of making their day better and inspiring more future musicians.

I help organize the “Lovely Asheville Annual Fall Festival” (LAAFF)… which is the first official Fall Festival in the history of Lovely Asheville, North Carolina.
